Major Arcana: The Infamous Tower Card

“You know what it takes for a star to fucking shine? A shit load of darkness.”

The beginning of the year is always that time of motivation. So, I thought it would be the perfect time to discuss the infamous Tower Card. This is a card I know too well because I’ve experienced it many times in my life. It isn’t my favorite card, but there is so much goodness that comes out from the storm of the Tower card. It’s just hard to see it in the moment you are in the rubble.

So, what is the Tower card?

The tower card is known for being the breakdown of weak foundations. When this comes up in your tarot reading that means there will be some kind of dramatic shock that will enter your life. It may be unpleasant, but it’s long overdue. The dramatic shock can be short and quick, small and last a day, or it can be long lasting. It’s important to not fear the tower, but that’s easier said than actually done.

When going through an experience of the tower card it’s important for you to look at what caused this situation in the first place. Don’t be a victim- look at your life honestly, then rebuild. This card has the most capacity for healing once you discovered what caused the breakdown of the foundations around you.

How the Tower card has affected me in the past

A memorable time I experienced the Tower card was when I was 19 years old. I was ready to settle down and have a family with the guy I was in a relationship with for a couple of years, and my world got rocked. I found out he was a serial cheater.. I was channeling Crazy Kristin from Vanderpump Rules, and was on some espionage shit. I hacked into his e-mail and saw nude, after nude, and e-mails of him setting up dates. That moment made me feel like my world was falling apart. And it did. It ended up not working with my HS sweetheart, and instead of my goals of being a trophy wife, I started going to school for graphic design.

That moment of my world falling apart led me to becoming the women I am today. A woman who became a creative manager and eventually went out to start her own business as a freelancer and candle maker. Who knows where I would’ve ended up if those foundations didn’t break, but I don’t think I would be as happy as I am now.

When I lost everything, was the moment I began a new life, and a better path. So, if you are experiencing the tower card right now, you will rebuild something better and stronger. You just have to keep the faith and stay motivated.

So, it wouldn’t be January if I didn’t end this off with some motivational quotes and a Hustle, Honey playlist.
